Preparing for Exams

Hey guys! It’s Palmer. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and is excited to be back for the last few weeks of school. This time of year is always full of stress, work, and studying, and it may seem like there isn’t enough time in the day to get everything done. Nevertheless, it’s imperative to make time for yourself and focus on your own wellness as we approach winter break. Exercise is a great way to relieve some stress and take your mind off class and grades. Here’s a few tips on how to fit in some physical wellness between everything else going on:
1. Make a Routine. Go for a run in the morning, or plan to go to Fike at night. If you set a time to something you’re more likely to do it. Knowing that you’re going to exercise at a certain time helps you plan ahead and allocate your time and resources.
2. Make it a Reward. Around this time of year I always try to reward myself for getting work or studying done. Planning things ahead of time to motivate myself to study helps me get my work done, while also serving to get me outside or with my friends. For example, if you get your chemistry homework done early, you can go play soccer with your friends.
3. Take breaks. Studying for ten hours straight isn’t going to help anyone. It’s good for both your brain and body to break up studying with exercise. Try studying for a few hours, going outside to throw a frisbee with your friends, and then come back to wrap everything up.
I hope y’all can use these tips to prepare for the final few weeks! Good luck with exams, and I
hope everyone has a wonderful winter break. Go Tigers!
